This table top game can be played on a table, on the floor or on a virtual table-top gaming platform like roll20.net. The number of players should be 4 or more. The maximum number of cars is stated on the track profile card of each track.
Number of Players, Cars and Teams
Each player is assumed to control one car. For more variety and action, players might want to control more than one car. This is especially useful if less than 4 players join for a game. By default we assume that a player controls a single team consisting of an equal number of cars per player/team. A team can consist of one car only but may consist of up to three cars.
More than one player may be part of a team. But there should be an equal number of players in each team. Up to three players can be part of a team, but each player then should only control one car (obviously this applys for teams of more than one player).
If using teams, team tactics may be employed.
The Number of teams is at least two. The maximum number of teams depends on the maximum number of cars on a particular track. See track profile cards (TPCs).
Tracks, Track Layout and TPCs
Both track variants may be used: DCTR Chrome Edition track posters and DCTR Black Edition TrackTiles. Tracks are considered two lane wide until otherwise noted. Usually the width of the track indicates the number of cars that may occupy each field of the track. Some tracks have lane markers indicating the number of cars for that part of the track.
